Greater China

Currently, we see lots of Chinese visiting Japan and spending money a lot.
It gives us a misperception of Chinese power.

In fact, all of the Chinese are not from Chinese mainland.
They are combination of mainland Chinese, Taiwanese, Hong Kong and Singaporean.
The 4 countries form a federation, what is called "Greater China".
We need to understand the Greater China for success in Asian business.

We tend to see the mainland China only as a Chinese economy but
actual force of it comes from the network of Greater China countries.
For example, a consumer product maker failed to establish brand well in Japan,
however, they recovered by taking the strategy to set new brand in the key cities
in the Greater China network.

Understanding the network economy will be crucial for business strategy.
